ANN BLYTH, 93 YEARS OLD

Nominated for an Oscars for her performance in Mildred Pierce, at 93, Ann Blythe is one of the oldest celebrities in Hollywood today. She was born on August 16, 1928, and is given credit for being among the last living stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Her first acting gig was on Broadway’s Watch, followed by her film debut on Chip off the Old Block in 1944, after signing up with Universal Studios. At her prime, Blyth was usually cast in musicals.

Formerly known as “Anne Blyth,” she changed her name’s spelling to “Ann” in a bid to reinvent herself when she started acting in movies. She was also considered one of Hollywood’s most beautiful faces. Not satisfied with acting, though, she also ventured into singing and has proven herself rather capable. Towards the later years of her acting career, she successfully rebranded herself not just as a singer but also as a TV actress.
